(Photo by Owen Sweeney/Invision/AP)The English rock band the Moody Blues' songs are known for their ethereal lyrics and innovative use of the mellotron – a keyboard that synthesized orchestral sounds. In the 1960s and early 70s fans around the world filled arenas to hear that music. Now nearly 50 years later, three members of the band are still touring: Justin Hayward, John Lodge and Graeme Edge. But Edge is the only member who remains from the original Moody Blues – an R&B group formed in 1964. Recently Edge chatted with Steve Goss about the origins of the band, touring with the Beatles and more. The Moody Blues will be playing at the Fox Theater on Mar. 12.
